CrossFit is a fitness program that combines elements of gymnastics, weightlifting, and Cardio that leaves participants feeling, looking, and moving better. The program began at a gym, aka Box, in Santa Cruz California and has since been embraced by athletes (high school, college, Olympic, and professional), military personnel, police officers, firefighters, and others just like you. Yet, CrossFit’s popularity and success (the number of affiliates now exceeds 10,000 worldwide!) really stems from the fact that it is adaptable to all ability levels: CrossFit is perfect for anyone who wants to get in the best shape of his or her life.
There is no prerequisite for participating in CrossFit Training. Many participants, in fact are not elite athletes, but average people who are looking for an effective exercise program. At CrossFit Eastern Shore, your coach will help you adjust your workouts according to your ability level, taking into consideration any pre-existing injuries or limitations.
CrossFit workouts are short, intense, and varied. On WOD (workout of the day) might have you rowing, performing olympic lifts, and doing pushups; the next day you might be performing lunges and jumping on boxes. The constant variation of these full-body movements helps you to maintain a well-rounded level of fitness, while also avoiding boredom. All workouts are scored, which enables you and your coach to measure your progress.
